Beginning on October 1, 2018, our Cancer Services Program of St. Lawrence County will merge and expand to a four county region (Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego and St. Lawrence Counties).
Oswego County Opportunities in Fulton NY will be the lead agency for the new four county region with the Health Initiative working by their side to serve this large geographic region. The Health Initiative staff, with an addtional staff member from Lewis County (announcement coming soon) will continue to work with residents, healthcare providers and partners of St. Lawrence County and begin serving Jefferson and Lewis counties as well.
While internally we will experience some changes, you will see only a few changes as a participant, partner or provider. These changes will be :
- A new name - Cancer Services Program of the North Country,
- A new logo
- and a new telephone number (315) 592-0830 or 1-866-442-2262.
CSP of the North Country will continue to offer many of the same local doctors and healthcare facilities for screening and diagnostic services that are available through us now. They will provide targeted outreach and education across Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego and St. Lawrence Counties.
Clients who need routine screening between now and December 31, 2018 and contact the CSP of the North Country team, will be added to a wait list and contacted once we are ready to begin screening. Members of the CSP the North Country team will be reaching out to all participants, providers and partners for introductions and to announce when we are ready to provide routine no-cost cancer screenings again. We expect that we will be able to do this on or before December 31, 2018.
However, if you are experiencing any symptoms of breast cervical or colorectal cancers or have been told you need to return for more tests after a recent cancer screening call us immediately at (315) 592-0830! During the transition, we will continue to work with local healthcare facilities to ensure urgent services are available to those in need.
Our CSP team is dedicated to providing breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screening services for uninsured and underinsured women between the ages of 40 to 64 and men 50 to 64 years old in your community. We appreciate your patience during this transition period!
